”Now I got a confession Hahahaha When I was young I wanted attention...”
The courtyards were always a good place to spend a free period or a day away from all worries. There were things to do, people to see, and always something to talk about while there. It seemed that despite the fact that the semester was just in its infancy that the school social scene had already kicked into high gear. People were already talking about dorm parties, who were dating who, and everything else that the rumour mill lay out. Students at Hogwarts wanted to be in the know. They wanted to have a reputation and in a school the size of Hogwarts one had to do something particularly noteworthy to get that. Hogwarts students wanted to be seen, and that was even more true when it came to a certain Hufflepuff sixth year.
“You know, when I was younger I used to do this devilishly clever thing where I would open up my eyes as wide as I could, pucker my lips a little and my parents turned into putty in my had. I was a bit of a cheeky one back then…but of course who wasn’t when they were young?”
The blond boy with the perfectly set curls chuckled heartily at his own comment as he looked around the broad group of people around. Gilderoy Lockhart had always been a talker. He could smooze his way through anything. He droned on about himself to the group that had congregated around him and he couldn’t help but smile at their glazed over expressions. He was already overwhelming them.
He ruffled his hair out of his eyes just like he saw James Potter do on a number of occasions but instead of this being a habitual action like the Head Boy’s, Gilderoy’s was strategically planned and poorly executed. If it hadn’t have been for his exquisite natural good looks he would have looked like a complete fool, but of course, he was unaware of this.
”Quidditch trials are coming up Martin! said a boy within the circle and Gilderoy instantly had to get involved.
“Oh yes, trials, what a bore. I didn’t try all that much last year just so the other teams couldn’t scout our or talent…We’ve got to throw off the competition somehow. I save my real playing for the games.” Gilderoy said in his pompous accent.
Everyone in the Quidditch circles remembered hearing about the disastrous Hufflepuff trials of 1976. Not only was there a couple of broken bones, there was a few seats blown out and a bludger lost. If there had been anyone else trying out for Seeker they probably would have made it over Gilderoy but, despite his accident prone day, he was a fair seeker when the weather was right, his shoes were too tight, he wasn’t nursing an injury, and he had the right amount of sleep.
Leave ‘em hanging Gilly—make them want more. he thought to himself with a clever grin as he put his hand in his pocket and yawned.
“Well I hate to leave you lot alone but I have place to go and people to see,” he saluted the group before taking his leave, walking backwards towards the entrance back into Hogwarts. He would have almost made a smooth and tantalizing exit if he hadn’t knocked right over someone who was coming from behind him.
“Ack—Bloody hell,” he said, stumbling around to face who he almost ran over. [/blockquote]

B A B Y I F Y O U S T R I P, Y O U C A N G E T A T I P ' c a u s e i l i k e y o u j u s t t h e w a y y o u a r e . ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Narcissa disliked free periods. They were pointless wastes of time always during the midst of a day, giving you no time to perhaps duck off to Hogsmead, by the time you even got to one place or another, it'd be time to head back.. that was one of the problems with such a vast castle - not that cissy could really complain about the size of Hogwarts. It was a magnificent place, and Narcissa did have an eye for architecture.. she rather admired the beauty of ancient structures like Hogwarts not that she'd ever admit it...but above all she loved the space. Whatever you could say about Hogwarts, at least it had space..and as much as Cissy enjoyed her company, whether they be male affections or friends of either gender, she did much enjoy her personal space at times.
it had only taken a week to learn which free lessons Narcissa shared with her friends, and which she didn't..and this happened to be one of those times during which she was by herself. She could deal with time away from friends, she did not need to be surrounded by people every hour of the day, though it would make her feel more powerful, but no... she didn't need to be in constant company. Still, spending an entire lesson alone left far too much time and space needing to be filled.. she could hardly go wandering about the castle for a good hour - not only would it be dull, but it wouldn't be good for her reputation to be seen wandering alone by too many people.
After all, Cissy was known for being established in a group of highly classed purebloods, and so by wandering alone, it could hardly help her status. She'd had to struggle to get her way to the top, but now she was there she was going to damn well stay there. Frowning, Narcissa decided that she might be able to whittle away the time with a nondescript group of Slytherins that often hung out in the Courtyard. They weren't usually her crowd, and she and her friends certainly considered the little group lower than their own, but still, they couldn't necessarily hurt her repuation...and so their company would have to suffice.
She headed out into the Courtyard, glancing up at the sky and surprised at the clear cut of the blue sky, no hint of rain on the horizon for a delightful change. Well it seemed there was one good thing about the day then .. despite double Charms to complete the afternoon after this free lesson. Perhaps ... there was a very slim chance she could ditch the lesson and get away with? Well she could certainly not turn up, but she doubted her parents would be best pleased with her - and no doubt they'd find out - besides, would a weeks worth of detention really be worth missing the two hour torture? Somehow she thought it might...
She had been glancing the other way, expecting that others would simply move out of her way if they came close to crossing paths..but oh how she'd been wrong. A heavy, larger, stronger body than her own collided with her, and only a light, slim thing, Cissy bounced back, staggering several steps backward before regaining her balance by gripping the arm of the boy who'd walked into her - none to gently but it had been his fault in the first place. “Ack—Bloody hell,” she frowned, letting go once she saw the 'Puff's emblem on his clothes, and tilting her head to look up at him with a raise of her finely plucked eyebrows. "Is it a habit of yours to walk into people you shouldn't? Perhaps if you tried walking forwards like any normal person, and used your eyes..you might learn to move out of my way." she said cooly, her voice light, but there was a hint of taunting to her words .. words which would have been more clipped had the boy infront of her not been rather good looking..'Puff or no 'Puff.

”Now I got a confession Hahahaha When I was young I wanted attention...”
Students were all around the courtyard at an hour like this. If given the choice, many students would have taken a free period over an elective and Gilderoy was just that person. His free period was always spent somewhere in the school where he could be noticed. He had left a group of what he thought to be passively important students and wanted to make a grand exit. Gilderoy had come to discover it was all about timing. The perfect mood could be set if one just had the right time to say a certain line. Acting was key and he always thought of himself as the star. It was a pity that he was about the only one who was impressed by his own charms.
As he stumbled into someone, Gilderoy surprisingly was able to catch himself. He smirked, pleased at this little accomplishment. Usually he would have fallen, but, it wouldn’t have been his fault! Who in their right mind just walked right into people like that? Granted, he was not looking where he was going and it was technically his fault for pretty much bowling over the unsuspecting student, still Gilderoy found it simply impossible to blame himself. Why blame a specimen as perfect as him when there were so many others to blame? Gilderoy looked disgruntled at what had made a perfect exit into one of those drawn out and clumsy affairs. Couldn’t people see that he was trying to leave them all hanging and yearning for more of the G-man?!
After he threw his disgruntled fitted looks he realized who exactly he had run over. Her lean figure stood gracefully in front of him, her blond hair blowing slightly in the wind, her appearance perfectly tailored and manicured. It was like Gilderoy was looking in a mirror---if he was a girl he would be exactly this kind of girl. He found his jaw dropping slightly as he took Narcissa Black’s appearance in full force.
"Is it a habit of yours to walk into people you shouldn't? Perhaps if you tried walking forwards like any normal person, and used your eyes..you might learn to move out of my way." she snapped.
The annoyance instantly fell from his face as he tried to catch her eye. He smiled cooly…or as cooly as he could manage. Flicking his hair out of his eyes in an over rehearsed manner he did not shy away from her cold tone. For some reason he had always been infatuated by the older Slytherin. She was just so---perfect? Well, she was much closer to his standards than any other girl he had ever come across. He liked her, and he was positive that she liked him, even if she didn’t know it.
“OH! Are you okay? Because Heaven is a long way to fall from here,” he said with a wink that came across rather forced and cheesy.
His pickup lines were ones that all the ladies swooned over. Sirius Black had nothing on Gilderoy. He was as smooth as they came…at least that’s the answer he would give if anyone asked. Really, Gilderoy was just as awkward and cheesy as they came. He seemed so forced in conversation it was hard to take him as seriously as he took himself.
“And anyways, “ he continued, smiling with his perfect set of white teeth, “ I just had to get an excuse to talk to you. How are you going Narcissa?” he asked, again flicking his hair.[/blockquote]

B A B Y I F Y O U S T R I P, Y O U C A N G E T A T I P ' c a u s e i l i k e y o u j u s t t h e w a y y o u a r e . ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Narcissa could tell the boy was trying to catch her eye, and she looked away for the moment.. she would catch his eye when she wanted, not when he wanted. Perhaps it was petty but Cissy was all about control, mostly over those around her and how they interacted with her. If you had control, you could ensure that you knew how things would pan out.. though she was quick-thinking and quick-whitted, finding it easy to get herself out of situations usually through use of her words..
..She had a way with words you see, as many people had found out over the years..and as this boy would soon learn. She was sure she recognised him - but she knew so many people in Hogwarts she could usually name everyone in the room around her.. yes, even the scum. It paid to know who everyone was. Ah yes, now she remembered the Hufflepuff's name - Gilderoy was it not? She'd heard friends called him.. Roy? She didn't see much in the name, nor in the boy himself.. he was rather arrogant as far as she could tell - and had heard - which pleased her slightly, at least he might get on with her a little... hmph she'd see.
“OH! Are you okay? Because Heaven is a long way to fall from here,” Narcissa raised her eyebrows and couldn't help but let out a derisive laugh. "oh honey-" the indearment was sarcastic but rolled off her tongue naturally "-if i come from anywhere it'll be from hell." she smirked and shook her head, moving to put her left hand on her hip and tilt her head slightly, long hair tumbling over shoulder as she glanced up at him. Narcissa rolled her ice blue eyes as he tossed his head in the most peculiar fashion, trying to get his hair from his eyes in a faliure of an immitation of what a girl would do.
"perhaps you should try getting a hair cut.. before you crick your neck.." she said simply, shaking her head and raising an eyebrow, smirking slightly as she made to step around him, unable to help herself trailing her fingertips along his shoulder as she made to walk away. She was naturally flirtatious, so long as the boy was good looking she didn't mind flirting, it just depended upon who was in her company and the boys blood status as to how public she'd flirt.. but right now, she was bored and he was there..
“And anyways, “ she paused once to glance back at him as she heard him speak. “ I just had to get an excuse to talk to you. How are you going Narcissa?” Narcissa rolled her blue orbs and raised an eyebrow, ignoring his question for the moment as she moved over toward a near-by bench and going to sit upon it - why stay standing. She didn't doubt that Gilderoy would follow, even without invitation from her or any clear indication that his company would be well recieved...her head turned toward him almost expectantly and she crossed one long leg over the other and smoothed down her skirt. "well? You wanted to talk..then talk." She spoke, sounding as though she were of higher authority..then again as a sixth year, compared to him she supposed she was.
So this was made for GILDEROY and counts at cba to count words. My muse is AVERAGE and i'm dancing to the lyrics THE WAY I ARE ~ TIMBERLAND. I just wanted to say that NADA. ”Now I got a confession Hahahaha When I was young I wanted attention...”
When it came to girls, Gilderoy had a set of moves. These moves were what he thought without fault or failure. He knew that packed with the right look a girl could never resist his endless charm and poise. Though these moves were not revolutionary and by no means original they tended to give off a rather cheap version of what the other lady killers of Hogwarts tried to do. He took a bit from each of them and made it his own, and by that he knew it was always a better more intelligent version. He had the classic smirk that turned into a rather suggestive smile, added with the batting of his rather thick eye lashes, a wink or two, and a witty remark and he was set. The girls were putty in his hands. Really he didn’t even have to say anything and by all accounts it would have probably be better on many occasions when he didn’t speak, but that was not how Gilderoy did things. He couldn’t help but lending his voice to a conversation and by lending he meant complete and total take over.
Who could really resist someone as charming as Gilderoy Lockhart? This was a question that continually stumped the blond boy wonder each morning as he stared at himself in his full length mirror. In the looks department there was simply no one in his league of perfection and with his wit and charm his overall appeal just shot straight through the roof. Yes, he believed he lived a hard life, full of the heart aches of being so good looking. So many people wanted a piece of him that he found it at times a bit tiresome to be as awesome as he was.
"oh honey-if i come from anywhere it'll be from hell." Narcissa Black said coyly back to him.
Gilderoy raised an eyebrow at her retort. She was feisty and obviously unable to resist his charm completely. Even though she was a Slytherin, and one of those high end Slytherins who didn’t really associate with anyone outside of her house and blood status, she was yet another one of the many girls who could not resist the G-man. To girls like her he was like the forbidden fruit of Hogwarts. In a satisfactory way he smirked and shook his head slightly. He couldn’t blame her, after all. He was a bit overwhelming at times. He was surprised daily when he didn’t get jumped by hoards of women.
“I should have known. You’re far too hot to get into heaven,” he told her lamely. To him it was the perfect mix between a suggestive compliment and a backhanded remark.
Gilderoy had always known he had a way with words. In front of a crowd he could make anyone eat whatever he was serving. His problem was that he always had to be ‘on’ even when talking to one person. He was an act from morning until night. Perhaps that was why he was always so exhausted at the end of the day. To him it was just his needed beauty sleep but anyone with half a brain could see that it took a lot out of someone to be ‘on’ 24/7.
Narcissa picked up on one of his signature moves---actually it was one of James Potter’s signature moves that he had took off of him and executed poorly. Still he used it quite frequently because he knew what a good head of hair he was given. He thought the women of Hogwarts deserved to see something so great.
“You like my hair?” he said, pretending to sound pleasantly surprised, “ Why thank you! I don’t do a thing with it, it always just seems to sit like this on top of my head. Sometimes I wonder what it would look like if I actually styled it, you know? But I just don’t really have the time.”
Lie. He never just woke up and rolled out of bed. To look that good all the time took work, but no one needed to know it.
A shiver went down his back as her fingers trailed along his shoulders. He tried to pull off like this happened to him. His smirk masked the fact that he was a bit nervous at her touch. He closed his eyes and let out a forces breath from his lips as she walked behind him. No one knew he wasn’t as smooth as he acted when it came to girls, and no one would ever know. He used his words as a shield. Everything was smoke and mirrors with Gilderoy and that was how he liked to keep it.
"well? You wanted to talk..then talk.”
Gilderoy turned around and saw Narcissa in her manicured perfection sitting on a bench. The sun light hit the colours in her hair perfectly, sending of a glistening look that seemed to draw every male in the courtyard in...and she wanted to talk to him—well duh she wanted to talk to him. He shook he head and tried to get everything on straight before following her over to the bench. He smirked and then took a seat right next to her.
He started to panic slightly in his head. She was blunt and to the point unlike most girls he talked to. For some reason it caught him slightly off guard. He had to fall back on what he knew best; himself.
“Ummm---I mean, So are you interested in Quidditch at all?” he asked her, “ I, myself play seeker. I’ve been told I’m rather good. I’ve got a flair for the athletics. Flying has always come rather easily to me---I’ve been told they are going to be sending some scouts out this year to take a look at me. So you my lucky girl may be sitting with a future professional Quidditch player.”
He smiled confidently as he continued to drone on about himself. He had no idea if Narcissa liked quidditch but he knew if she had any good sense she would like him and that was all that mattered, wasn’t it?[/blockquote]

B A B Y I F Y O U S T R I P, Y O U C A N G E T A T I P ' c a u s e i l i k e y o u j u s t t h e w a y y o u a r e . ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ “I should have known. You’re far too hot to get into heaven,” Narcissa gazed at the boy and raised her eyebrows. Could he not think of anything better to say than lame 'compliments' that he most likely got from his father. Gilderoy could not honestly believe that he was worth the same as her...that he had a shot..with her. Oh that was simply laughable. The boy may have been one of the better looking males in Hogwarts, but..he was a Puff, he was obviously a halfblood or something, and he was so far up his own... butt... that she doubted he could see the light of day.
She sighed, making a point to emphasise that he was boring her, and she had better things to be doing - despite the fact that she evidently did not - bothering bothering to respond to him. "and far too hot for you to handle." she said simply, making it a statement that nobody could argue with..least of all Gilderoy. She didn't doubt that in his head he believed he could get her..and oh if she was feeling amused she might offer him a chase...but that was all Cissy would offer him, and she knew that she'd most likely get bored quickly and move along.
Boys were like toys to her. Sure, one day she knew her parents would expect her to marry a pureblood and settle down, but until then she would have as much fun as she damn well wanted. They were just good looking playthings - something on the side of school to entertain her, and then when one got boring, you could throw it aside and pick up another. With Narcissa's looks, she never found it hard...Gilderoy for an example here. He should have realised a Slytherin Sixth year - and Cissy at that - was certainly out of legue and yet, here he was throwng lame remarks at her.
Well you had to admire his courage (Cissy had at least a little compassion) and so she'd decided that perhaps the hours free lesson may not be such a bore after all...she might just have found her new toy. “You like my hair?” she raised her eyebrows, wondering how a sarcastic remark about his failure of a head toss, and liking his hair could even be put into the same sentance. “ Why thank you! I don’t do a thing with it, it always just seems to sit like this on top of my head. Sometimes I wonder what it would look like if I actually styled it, you know? But I just don’t really have the time.” Naricssa rolled her eyes and smirked. "You're transparent, Gilderoy ... anyone can see you spend more time on your hair than your homework."
But hey it wasn't like she could say she didn't do the same when it came to her Charms homework. She felt the shiver run down his back at the slightest touch of her fingertips and she smirked as she walked away. It was so easy to get a reaction out of boys...and she wasn't surprised by Gilderoy's shiver; he may have 'the lines' but something told Cissy he'd never had experience with a girl...she wondered if his lines had got him further than a blush and a shy giggle.
As he sat beside her she glanced at him..the bench was large enough for four people and he chose right next to her? Had he no sense of personal space. She knew some boys were surprised by her often abrupt, blunt ways but why wasthere any need to mess about - well, other than when it came to the chase. “Ummm---I mean, So are you interested in Quidditch at all?” oh..he was going to introduce that famed quidditch subject. She sighed and inspected her nails..Cissy could fly perfectly well, but the sport had never really entertained her. “ I, myself play seeker. I’ve been told I’m rather good. I’ve got a flair for the athletics. Flying has always come rather easily to me---I’ve been told they are going to be sending some scouts out this year to take a look at me. So you my lucky girl may be sitting with a future professional Quidditch player.” Narcissa looked at Gilderoy and raised her eyebrows. "lucky me." she said, inducing heavy sarcasm into her tone incase the boy believed she meant it, waiting for him to continue with the speaches about that wretched sport and himself as she was sure he would...
So this was made for GILDEROY and counts at cba to count words. My muse is AVERAGE and i'm dancing to the lyrics THE WAY I ARE ~ TIMBERLAND. ”Now I got a confession Hahahaha When I was young I wanted attention...”
There was no denying that Gilderoy Lockhart talked a big game. He had all the bells and whistles and thought he knew exactly how to use them. He had many stories and had a particular ability to revert any conversation back to himself. He indulged in what people wanted to hear and told stories that made him sound all the more fabulous in them. He wanted very much to emulate James Potter, who in many ways was the total package. He was probably one of the most well liked people at school, had a string of beautiful women chasing after him, and always had a great story about some kind of accomplishment or adventure he had with his Marauder friends. Yes, to Gilderoy, James Potter was the perfect person to follow in the footsteps of. He knew he was already doing above and beyond what James Potter had done in his fifth year, because, well, he was Gilderoy Lockhart.
It was no surprise to Gilderoy that he was now sitting with the best looking girl in the courtyard. He had a way of attracting women who were almost as good looking as himself. It was one of his many talents. He had once tried to teach a younger Hufflepuff his ways but of course it couldn’t 100% be learned. He believed you had to at least be a bit born with it. Gilderoy knew with his looks, perfect smile, and stunning personality that he was most definitely born with it. He didn’t know how his parents could handle having a boy like him. He was an anomaly in perfection if there ever was one.
He ignored Narcissa’s comment and continued to look at her. He didn’t want to overwhelm her with his great personality and good looks all at once. It was so bothersome when girls fainted at his feet. To say he was a bit much at times was an understatement. The thing was he thought this all was a good thing. To anyone looking at him they would think the only skill a guy like Gilderoy had was the ability to be as oblivious as he was about the way people perceived him.
“Oh homework, such a bothersome bit of business isn’t it?” he said, completely bypassing the actual meaning to her comment, “I really need to learn to spend more time on my studies but I’m just so busy this time of year. There are so many back to school parties people need me to be in attendance for, you have no idea! It’s quite stressful. Don’t get me wrong I’m still near the top in my classes but some things just can’t be missed! Just the other day my good friend James Potter dropped the hint he was in need of a wingman to a party this weekend.”
That was yet another lie. Sometimes Gilderoy just got carried away with himself. Other times he thought he knew what he was talking about when really he was just blowing a lot of hot air. Surprisingly Gilderoy was not the sharpest tool in the shed. If he spent half as much time on his homework as he did talking himself up he probably wouldn’t be constantly struggling for a pass in most of his classes. He was rubbish at most things academic and even most disastrous with skills such as charms, potions, and defensive spells. Of course he liked to think of himself as someone too good for Ravenclaw---and as for James Potter, well, the closest Gilderoy would ever get to being his wingman would be if he was serving them on a platter at a pub somewhere.
When Gilderoy sat down next to Narcissa he would see the look in her eye that screamed excitement. Of course he could have sat anywhere on the long bench but he had chosen right beside her knowing it would drive her mad. As he spoke about quidditch he could see her eyes light up and feel her becoming more enthralled with him by the minute. She spoke, and he had to suppress a pompous laugh at her small response. There he went doing it again. He had clearly overwhelmed her.
“Yes, it is a bit of a lucky day for you isn’t it?” he went on as he smoothed out the crease in his trousers, “ And mine is almost as lucky as yours is as I get to talk to you.”
It could have been sweet if it had come from anyone else but Gilderoy had the funny way of cheapening every moment with a bit of self centered pizzazz. He flicked his hair out of his face unnecessarily once more and continued on monopolizing the conversation.
“I assume I may try my hand at playing Quidditch professionally but I fear that I may be good at so many other things later in life that I don’t want to limit myself to one thing. That’s why the scouts have been looking around for others while they were here---I’ve been frustrating them playing hard to get. It’s a bit like the dating world Quidditch, wouldn’t you agree?”
He didn’t much care if she agreed or not. To many onlookers it was as if Gilderoy hadn’t a clue he was even with anyone else. He could have probably had quite an enjoyable conversation with himself for that matter. His lies blended with truths of others so often it was a wonder he could keep them straight. Perhaps that was the real reason he didn’t do his homework. He looked at Narcissa and smiled, wondering if he was too much for her to take in all at once.[/blockquote]

Post by Nero Tiberius on Aug 21, 2011 1:50:24 GMT -6
They wont get me, they wont get me, though they never cease to try. They wont get me, they wont get me, I would rather FIGHT and die! Nero was enjoying the peace of the courtyard, as today was borderline perfect. The sky had but a few puffs of white clouds drifting by, while the rest of it was a clear blue. He looked out at the sky and leaned back on the bench resting on his arms. The little cluster of benches were around one of the massive trees on Hogwarts grounds providing shade for those who wanted it. Today there wasn't much that was going to get him annoyed. He had gotten a letter from his father, which always put him in an excellent mood. His father offered him nothing but encouraging words in every aspect of life. He wasn't just his father, he was literally his best friend.
He wasn't really paying attention to anything going on, and didn't really want to. He had spaced out staring up at the sky and not really thinking about anything at all. He was in just too good a mood to worry about the tests he had coming up or anything else for that matter. Stress could wait until tonight when it came time to study, or for that matter, it could wait until tomorrow morning for class to start. Nero wasn't in a hurry to turn his dark black hair grey. He laid back down onto the bench that he was on and pulled a small book from his shirt pocket and began reading.
Just over the buzz of the other conversations going on, he could hear one familiar voice, one that did in fact annoy him to no end. He didn't even have to look to see who it was, or even take his focus off of the book. Gilderoy Lockhart... when will you figure out the world doesn't revolve around you. Nero thought to himself. Never... his common sense replied. “Well I hate to leave you lot alone but I have place to go and people to see” Gilderoy said as he attempted to leave.
Nero glanced over just in time to see him back directly into Narcissa Black. He almost dropped his book at the sheer shock of his luck. "Now this is going to be good." He said out loud . He continued to look at his book, even though he wasn't reading it, but listening to the exchange of words between Gilderoy and Narcissa. They exchanged words, all the while Gilderoy trying all of the lines and moves he usually did. He had a reputation about him, and Nero was just observant. He had seen Gilderoy trying these same moves on some of the Ravenclaw girls. Some of them being so naive as to fall for the boy.
Narcissa came and sat on the bench that was somewhat caddy corner to the bench Nero was laying on, and shortly Gilderoy gave chase and came and sat next to her. Nero could hear every word, and took a lot of effort to not chuckle at the blindness Gilderoy had. Your striking out Roy, and horribly. Nero thought. He turned the page to make it appear he was involved with his book and continued to listen. Gilderoy decided to get onto the topic of Quidditch and began to brag about how good he was at it, and how there were possibly going to be scouts out for him. Ok, thats enough... he thought closing his book and resting it on his chest.
Nero rolled his eyes at the comment, taking solace in the fact that Gilderoy was making a complete fool out of himself. "Roy, the day you get drafted into the Pro Quidditch circuit is the day they reopen the Colosseum and I join as a Gladiator." He said sitting up looking over at the younger classman. He didn't have anything against him personally, he just had something against people that were overly full of themselves.

B A B Y I F Y O U S T R I P, Y O U C A N G E T A T I P ' c a u s e i l i k e y o u j u s t t h e w a y y o u a r e . ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ “Oh homework, such a bothersome bit of business isn’t it?” Narcissa glanced at him with faint surprise. He was going to spin it like that? Really? She simply gave a small nod for now, a raise of her eyebrows the only indication of her surprise. She had to admit he had a marvelous way of twisting people words to turn into something he could work with that would paint him in a good light, or create another opening to talk about himself. It wasn't very skillful - it would certainly irritate anyone with a brain, like herself...but at the same time it was vaugely interesting. A defense mechanism perhaps...to avoid anything shattering his "Gilderoy is king" idealism.
“I really need to learn to spend more time on my studies but I’m just so busy this time of year. There are so many back to school parties people need me to be in attendance for, you have no idea! It’s quite stressful. Don’t get me wrong I’m still near the top in my classes but some things just can’t be missed! Just the other day my good friend James Potter dropped the hint he was in need of a wingman to a party this weekend.” Cissy couldn't help but curl her top lip at that. James Potter..no less than scum in her thought. She should expect that Gilderoy would idolise that fool...but she expected more from the Hufflepuff..her interest was starting to wan. "You should aim higher than him Gilderoy ... " she couldn't help but say, her tone slightly sharper than before, she shook her head and forced herself to slip back into her teasing, playful attitude, shooting Gilderoy a slightly teasing look to make up for the slight snap. After all, if she was going to remain here to mess with him, she couldn't afford to upset him, right?
“Yes, it is a bit of a lucky day for you isn’t it?” she watched his movmenet with an almost hawk-like gaze but made no comment on that either. “ And mine is almost as lucky as yours is as I get to talk to you.” she raised her fine eyebrows and gave a small derisive laugh. Almost as lucky?! Almost. "Oh Gilderoy, you've so much to learn." She'd lowered her voice but ensured he'd catch the words. She was astounded he believed himself above her in this world; certainly not! He was lucky she hadn't sneered at him, calling him a pompous idiot and strutted away like she would have done any normal day. The only thing had to thank for that was his looks and her boredem..which she guessed was rather ironic.
Once more, the 'Puff opened his mouth to spew out further arrogance. Cissy was surprised he hadn't run out of material yet..but apparently he had further imagination - well...it may not be original, considering he was merely bragging about Quidditch, but it was imagination nonetheless. “I assume I may try my hand at playing Quidditch professionally but I fear that I may be good at so many other things later in life that I don’t want to limit myself to one thing. That’s why the scouts have been looking around for others while they were here---I’ve been frustrating them playing hard to get. It’s a bit like the dating world Quidditch, wouldn’t you agree?” Naricssa smirked slightly and looked at hiim, disregarding his question and the whole speach about how 'incredible' he was at flying completely and just managing to say "You know how to play hard to get? Strange..." she was taunting him a little, she couldn't help it... but so far all he'd come across as was desperate. She was about to say more, when another male voice cut in first and she frowned, irritated that this other had interrupted.
"Roy, the day you get drafted into the Pro Quidditch circuit is the day they reopen the Colosseum and I join as a Gladiator." her eyes glazed over him slowly, taking a few moments to think through and place a name to the face. Hmm..Nero..pureblood. Still, he wasn't worth her time of day - Ravenclaws always irritated her more than 'puffs. Perhaps it would be a good idea should he dissapear to Rome and become a Gladiator..at least then he would not be here.
"Now now.." She began, a small smirk gracing her features as she turned toward the Ravenclaw who'd so rudely interupted gilderoy's superficial bragging. She made it sound as though she were about to defend gilderoy..take his side, and she made to touch his arm with fake affection and a coy smile, her eyes glancing to gilderoy and then the other boy. "Allow him his fantasies...after all..they're all he's got." She raised one eyebrow and then moved her hand away from gilderoy's arm.
She did rather enjoy doing that...one moment appearing to be a friend of someone, support...on their side, and suddenly within the next sentance, all sweetness and light she'd turn on them. Oh it had only been a passing comment and she was certain gilderoy would twist it to his advantage, but it didn't bother her. Her voice, having remained soft and almost warm would certainly confuse the boys as to whether she had just taken gilderoy's side...or insulted him. It was a sly shot she had to admit, and though she just insulted the hufflepuff she wasn't ready to leave him be yet...this was turning into something far more interesting than wandering the castle along until next lesson..he certainly was doing his job and providing her with some basic amusement for now at least.
Her gaze flickered to gilderoy and she flashed him a slight flirtatious smile. "Do continue gilderoy...i'm sure the boy is simply jealous of you.." She was playing with him..it would be easy to see had the 'puff any sense of what subtly was..any sense of what narcissa was really like...and if he wasn't so far up his own ass he could see it for himself. There was an underlining of sarcasm about her words, but that small flirtatious smile and the slight raise of her eyebrow covered if over enough that she was certain gilderoy wouldn't see it - providing her with more entertainment - despite the fact that her eyes clearly held nothing of the interest she was supposedly expressing with her words.
So this was made for GILDEROY AND NEROand counts at cba to count words. My muse is AVERAGE and i'm dancing to the lyrics THE WAY I ARE ~ TIMBERLAND. I just wanted to say that NADA Credits to ECLIPSEY'S OF CAUTION 2.0 STEAL THIS AND I'LL COME AFTER YOU WITH MY BLACK BELT! [/blockquote]

”Now I got a confession Hahahaha When I was young I wanted attention...”
Gilderoy could not help but smile at Narcissa. His perfectly straight and white teeth further proved his profoundly striking looks. In this state, Gilderoy was near perfection as one could get. His soft blond curls sat neatly on his golden face and it all tied together with a smile that seemed to say something far more honest than anything one would ever hear Gilderoy Lockhart utter in his life time. If he could stay like that forever there would be no wonder if he became the most sought after man not only at Hogwarts but in all of Wizarding London. Gilderoy was a beautiful looking man with chiseled features, perfect hair, and a glittering smile. Unfortunately for him he had to go and open his mouth far too often and ruin what was once nice to look at.
He nodded at Narcissa but did not say anything. Her distain for James Potter was bewildering to him. He was ‘the man!’ How could anyone not like the guy? Well, perhaps that was where Gilderoy had him beat. He didn’t know a person around who didn’t like him as much as he liked himself so in a way he could never really be let down. He could always fall back on himself, which was quite nice considering how lovely he was to look at in the mirror. While James Potter was by all means controversial, especially with certain houses, Gilderoy was a happy medium. After this year there would be no fighting it, Gilderoy would take his spot as the hot shot of the school, only next year he would do it far better.
"You know how to play hard to get? Strange..."
“You wouldn’t believe the offers I get on a daily basis from the ladies here,” he said pompously, “Sometimes I think there isn’t enough of me to go around---Playing hard to get keeps them on their toes. They can’t all have a piece of me at the same time, afterall.”
Gilderoy talked of his exploits with women as if there were prolific. Of course, he was no stranger to women, he was not as experienced as many would think. He was not as smooth as his idol James Potter and he didn’t have a girl hanging off of him at every turn like Sirius Black. In many ways he talked the talk but could not truly walk the walk. Of course, he was far too good a talker for anyone to be any the wiser. He could tell Narcissa was more than interested in him and as he spoke of his infamous ways with women he knew that she was going to be green with envy at any second. Alas, it was just another one of his many curses. Sometimes it was a bother being so good looking.
It was just when Gilderoy was about to seal the deal with Narcissa that the conversation was interrupted. Gilderoy jumped, a bit scared at the unexpected voice. His turned his head quickly around to see a Ravenclaw boy speaking.
The boy looked familiar but he could not place a name to the face. Oddly enough Gilderoy didn’t take the time to learn the names of male counterparts, especially when they were not as notable as his good old pal James Potter.
"Roy, the day you get drafted into the Pro Quidditch circuit is the day they reopen the Colosseum and I join as a Gladiator."
Gilderoy was not a confrontational person. It could be seen in the passive way he played Quidditch that he didn’t like the more aggressive and in your face style. He was about the tricks, frills, and show factor and would more than often leave his fellow team mates out to dry during a heated battle. He was out for him and him alone and that suited him fine.
His fingers curled around the edge of the bench uneasily as his eyebrows rose in a state of pompous shock. His mind was spinning in an attempt to come back with something witty but not too confrontational. The last thing he wanted to do was get into a duel with this rude Ravenclaw.
He did not need to think for long as Narcissa came to his aid almost instantly. She was already falling for his charm and ready to fight for his honour. It was rather sweet. Gilderoy smiled brightly at Narcissa and then turned, more confident back to the newest addition to the conversation, his smile turning into a sly and haughty grin.
“Perhaps you should go to the Colosseum, “ he said arrogantly, “Then you could interrupt conversations in a completely different language as well.”
It was shocking how a bit of attention from a pretty girl could turn a guy into something he was so obviously not. While the arrogance had always been a part of Gilderoy’s personality, his aggressiveness was not. He was a man of many words that lived in a world blinded by his own reflection. There was simply not enough time to add confrontation to that mix.
"Do continue gilderoy...i'm sure the boy is simply jealous of you.."
He smiled again, first at the boy and then over to Narcissa. He turned his back to the boy and continued with his conversation, “ Thank you Narcissa,” he smiled, then glanced back at the boy, “ Jealousy is never very becoming…sorry, I don’t know your name.—You should try a bit of subtlety, it seems a lot more…you.”
He flicked his hair yet again and continued on his one man show. He turned back to Narcissa and gave her is full attention,“ Now I know Hufflepuff hasn’t had the results we were looking for in the past few years. I must admit we have had some weaknesses in our beaters—Ludo Bagman needs a bit of work. Hopefully he can step up a bit this year.” He said in a rather audacious whisper. With the newest addition, this conversation was taking a turn and unlike his idol James Potter, Gilderoy was not as capable to adjust. He would run for the hills if he thought it would save his neck. It was turning out to be a rather unexpected afternoon for the obnoxious Hufflepuff.[/blockquote] OOC: sorry for the wait. G has been giving me some trouble as of late!

Post by Nero Tiberius on Aug 29, 2011 12:08:14 GMT -6
They wont get me, they wont get me, though they never cease to try. They wont get me, they wont get me, I would rather FIGHT and die! Now now.... Allow him his fantasies...after all..they're all he's got.
Nero didn't even have to see Narcissa speaking to hear her taking a shot at Gilderoy's fantasy take on the world. He really did feel sorry for those exposed to him. His irrational outlook on the world, especially in times such as these, must weigh heavily on those around him. He was sure that Gilderoy wouldn't last long in the real world if he kept his current mind set, but Nero had been wrong before about people. Today though, Gilderoy had already taken the bait.
Perhaps you should go to the Colosseum, then you could interrupt conversations in a completely different language as well.”
Nero would do just that if the opportunity presented itself. To relive the days of his ancestors and to honor his family would be a welcomed thing in his life. There were too many politics involved in the wizarding world, and Nero didn't like it one bit. Too much hush-hush business when what they needed to be doing was going on a mass search for the disappearing people. It didn't take, as the muggles say "A rocket scientist" to figure out Darkness was behind them. Nero moved from his laying position to a sitting position as Gilderoy turned his back on him and was about to reply when Gilderoy decided to add more.
Jealousy is never very becoming…sorry, I don’t know your name.—You should try a bit of subtlety, it seems a lot more…you
Nero chuckled to himself and looked from Gilderoy, to Narcissa, and back to Gilderoy. "Ego sum plures res , Zelus est non unus lemma." he said in perfect Latin. I am many things, Jealousy is not one of them. Arrogance suits you Roy. It gives us all something else to snicker at you about. " Nero retorted, taking direct aim at what Nero suspected was Roy's weakness.
Anyone who thinks this highly of themselves does it only because of two reasons, they actually ARE all that, or they want everyone to think they are. In this case, Nero had seen Gilderoy in many Quidditch matches. Sure, he could do some pretty interesting tricks and such, but it always left his team open and vulnerable, which is why they almost always lost. At least that's what Nero suspected from watching or playing against the 'Puff house.
It was moments like this that he understood why the Hat had trouble sorting him between Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Your average Slytherin would have hexed, cursed, and hexed Gilderoy again just for being annoying, and the thought had crossed his mind. But he restrained himself, if there was one thing he learned from his training, was self control. You can't go losing your head in the heat of the moment. he heard his fathers voice say in his mind.
He decided to engage in Narcissa's game of toying with Gilderoy. Poor chap didn't even seem to suspect she was playing with him. Nero turned his attention to Narcissa. She was most certainly attractive, everyone knew who she was, yet few outside the house of Slytherin dared to engage her in speaking. "Narcissa, forgive my rudeness in not introducing myself. My name is Nero Tiberius, and many have told me of your beauty, but they failed to reveal the extent of it", he said with a wink. "Especially your eyes. Someone once compared them to the clear blue of the sky, but they were far wrong. Your eyes have the color and sparkle of the purest of blue Topaz." He finished.
Nero was sure Narcissa would see that he was taunting Gilderoy, but he didn't mind. Psychological warfare was another one of Nero's hobbies. What ever came of it, Nero was sure to enjoy the outcome. After all, this afternoon was just too nice to let anything sour his mood.

B A B Y I F Y O U S T R I P, Y O U C A N G E T A T I P ' c a u s e i l i k e y o u j u s t t h e w a y y o u a r e . ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ “You wouldn’t believe the offers I get on a daily basis from the ladies here,” Naricssa raised an eyebrow, surprised not for the first time, by how far Gilderoy went with his imagination - all the way to women offering themselves to him. Narcissa could not help but wonder if his claims were imagination themselves or purely exaggeration - perhaps his claims of offers from women were merely narrowed down to two, stretching on three, First years asking them the way to the Hufflepuff common room from the courtyards where he so readily hung out. It was a little on the interesting side to wonder where all this time from, though rather infuriating that if he didn't learn to shut his mouth she might loose interest in him at all. After all, good looks only counted so far.. if had had the experience it would count further toward his looks, but she couldn't help doubting that he did. Still, something kept her sitting there as she caught the rest of his arrogance. “Sometimes I think there isn’t enough of me to go around---Playing hard to get keeps them on their toes. They can’t all have a piece of me at the same time, afterall.”
she looked toward him, making a quick decision whether to knock him back or play into his hands for the moment. She allowed her mouth to make the decision for her and she tilted her head enquiringly, a lightly flirtatious smile on her full lips. "hmm well how about me? Can I have a piece of you?" she'd lowered her voice to add to the flirtatiousness of her words. It had been the first out right comment to him she'd truly said and she was curious as to his reaction ... whilst at the same time she mentally shook her head at him. Oh poor Gilderoy..didn't he know she was going to chew him up and spit him out?
As he jumped she glanced at him with a slight frown. Honestly the Ravenclaw wasn't that scary looking, he was...average..nothing to freak out about. She gave a small sigh and a light roll of her eyes that he seemed to miss - the one dissapointing thing about Gilderoy was that for all his arrogance and his imagination, he appeared to lack quick wit. Narcissa was usually sharp off the mark if someone happened to irritate her, get in her way or through a fly away comment at her and she'd quickly ensure through sharp well spoken words to knock them down into their place by her pedicured feet and high heels.. she found it..pathetic..when people lacked wit - and it was hardly as much fun to attack them verbally when they stood there with a 'pixie caught in an imoblizer charm' look upon their face. She further respected people who could challange her back with their words, even if she despised them.
As she spoke up herself, she noticed the way Gilderoy turned to grin at her and she raised her eyebrows. Did he always need a girl to fight his battles for him? Not that Narcissa didn't believe she could win a battle, whether it were against a male or female, and not that she really believed in women being lesser than men, but she did find it faintly amusing in perhaps a harsh sense that he couldn't speak up for himself. She found it even further amusing that Gilderoy did not seem to notice that she'd rather just insulting him, and his inability to notice this made it all the more fun for her..but still, she needed to tread carefully here. She didn't wish to be seen taking the Ravenclaw's side and then loose her 'prize'. Gilderoy would be a feeble prize, nothing in comparison to some of the guy's she'd 'collected' but he was something nonetheless and now she'd set her sights on him, it was him she next wanted. He wouldn't be difficult, but still ... fun enough.
“Perhaps you should go to the Colosseum, Then you could interrupt conversations in a completely different language as well.” Narcissa could not help herself from giving a delighted laugh as Gilderoy spoke up, turning to him in surprise - oh he was always surprising her - with a genuine half grin, half smirk upon herself. Oh what her presence had done to 'sweet innocent Roy' within just a few minutes. It really was delightful, and she indulged him with a second feather-like touch upon his arm almost in praise. Now arrogant, witty Gilderoy she could enjoy much more than just Mr.Egotistical. "That is assuming of course, he has the brain capacity to learn to speak a second language...which i highly doubt, Ravenclaw or not." She chimed right in after him, the harsh words falling easily from her poisonous lips as she raised her eyebrows in challange toward the other male.
“ Thank you Narcissa,” she inclined her head playfully as though to say 'no problem' without the words passing her lips and she looked toward him. “ Jealousy is never very becoming…sorry, I don’t know your name.—You should try a bit of subtlety, it seems a lot more…you.” Narcissa gave a willing giggle as once more, Gilderoy's new and improved attitude made a show of itself - something she was very much enjoying, and she gave him a slow, coy smile, her attention apparently back onto him whilst really she slipped back and forth between the Hufflepuff and the Ravenclaw, sure that this wasn't finished yet even as Roy waffled on in the background of her thoughts. “ Now I know Hufflepuff hasn’t had the results we were looking for in the past few years. I must admit we have had some weaknesses in our beaters—Ludo Bagman needs a bit of work. Hopefully he can step up a bit this year.”
"Narcissa, forgive my rudeness in not introducing myself. My name is Nero Tiberius, and many have told me of your beauty, but they failed to reveal the extent of it" Narcissa gave a small raise of her eyebrows in sudden surprise, her attention flickering now to the Ravenclaw and catching his words as well as his compliment. A coy smile pulled her lips upward at the corners. Oh this was too precious ... Nero wanted to play games too? She knew it was what he was doing - she was smart and nobody was as good at games than she. The question was whether she wished to play along with him and perhaps toy with Gilderoy, or involve herself further in residing within Gilderoy's good books. "Especially your eyes. Someone once compared them to the clear blue of the sky, but they were far wrong. Your eyes have the color and sparkle of the purest of blue Topaz." she indulged him in a larger smile, a flirtatious edge to it whether he was just saying the words to toy with the Hufflepuff or not..still .. she'd decided she disliked him trying to strike up games. If she wanted to start one she'd begin it, not allow a Ravenclaw to pull the shots. "Thank you but perhaps your lusts would be appreciated elsewhere...i'm busy," she shot back, eyes dancing with challange and amusement as her fingers made to touch Gilderoy's leg playfully..oh my this was too much fun.
So this was made for GILDEROY AND NEROand counts at cba to count words. My muse is AVERAGE and i'm dancing to the lyrics THE WAY I ARE ~ TIMBERLAND. I just wanted to say that SO SORRY FOR THE WAIT!
