` full name !
Alice Margot Logan
` name meanings !
Alice's parents were guilted into naming their daughter after a grandparent. Her "pure-blood supremacy" cousins and aunts and uncles, insisted that since Alice's parents were blood traitors in every sense of the world, they should at least pay the recently deceased Grandma Alice (Her mother's mother) a tad bit of respect by naming their daughter after her. Margot was the name they had originally wanted to give her.

` history !
Matthew and Gwendolyn Logan both came from very old and respected pureblood families. Matthew's family was generally accepting of muggleborn's and muggles and had little to do with any sort of "Pure-blood supremacy" movement. Gwendolyn's family on the other hand despised all muggles, muggle-borns, and blood-traitors. The Greenwood family was rumored to be full of criminals who committed violent acts against muggles and muggle-borns, though no real evidence was ever produced. Gwendolyn left for Hogwarts expecting to find herself in the Slytherin house, where all of her family had gone before her. However, due to her incredible intelligence and adoration of learning, she was sorted into the Ravenclaw House. Time went by, and slowly she began to befriend those in her house that were muggle-born or blood-traitors and after much personal struggle, left her families views behind. She fell in love with Matthew Logan, a Gryffindor, in her seventh year and they were married soon after.
The two of them moved far away from Gwendolyn's family and settled in a small house by the beach where they raised their children. Alice was the youngest of three girls, her two older sisters were twins, both of whom had a mischievous streak. She grew up around wizards and muggles alike, completely unaware that there was anyone who thought less of them.
When Alice was very young, playing hide-and-seek with her sisters. Harriet thought it might be funny to lock her in the trunk she was hiding in. She had planned to let her out minutes later, but when her mother called that it was time for lunch, she forgot all about her. Alice was trapped in the trunk all day, and when her mother finally found her and let her out, she was shaking horribly. From that point on, Alice was terrified of small, enclosed spaces.
Ever since she was a young girl, her mother's sister Felicity Black visited the girls every summer bringing gifts. She often spoke of blood supremacy to the girls when their parents weren't around, but Alice never really understood what she meant. Gwendolyn and Matthew greatly disproved of Felicity's visits, but they knew how much the girls adored her (mostly because of the presents she brought and the praise she offered them). She went on and on about how Slytherin was the best house to be sorted into and when Isabelle and Harriet were sorted into Ravenclaw and Gryffindor, Felicity seemed to lose interest in them completely. Suddenly there were only gifts for Alice, who wouldn't be starting Hogwarts for two more years.
Alice noticed that her aunt no longer seemed to care about her two older sisters when they weren't sorted into her house of choice, and when she was sent off to Hogwarts she desperately wanted to be in Slytherin, so her aunt would continue to love her. However, she didn't really understand the principals her aunt and most Slytherins stood for until her first year. When Alice arrived at Hogwarts she was sorted into Gryffindor and she was crushed, and suddenly just as it had been with her sisters, her aunt stopped visiting or sending letters at all.
Still, time went by, and with her parents' and sisters' encouragement, Alice grew to adore her house, and understand what her aunt had been trying to do. She grew into a kind and gentle, but stubborn and passionate young woman.

From another site where I played Luna Lovegood:
The breeze was harsher, perhaps, than it was other evenings, but it was nothing to really be concerned about. Chilly air was really very harmless when it came down to it. That is, it's harmless so long as one was wearing a locket made of enchanted twigs from the arctic. It was advertised that week on page six of The Quibbler. Of course, it was entirely useless and looked absolutely ridiculous, but Luna could have sworn she felt measurably warmer with the silly token about her neck.
The thinner trees in the forest swayed along with the wind almost like oversized metronomes, and Luna skipped along to the rythm. She wasn't certain where she was headed exactly, but it was certainly as far away from the school as she could reach. She had found as of late, that Hogwarts was holding less wonder for her than it had once had. In this case, it was clear that Luna was not the only student who felt this way. The reason was not difficult to see, even with all the hell students at Hogwarts had put Harry Potter through, the school was not the same without him and everyone knew it.
The loss of Harry had had a negative effect on everyone in the school, even those who had claimed to have hated him. Luna, being more perceptive than most, had noticed it almost immediately. Those that had once resisted people like the Carrows now gave in more easily to their demands. Even the Slytherins, who she had expected to be rejoicing, acted as if they had lost something very dear, as if losing such a powerful enemy was as great an injury as losing a friend.
The entire wizarding world seemed to have taken a blow to the gut, and had to pause to catch its breath. Before anything could move forward, Hogwarts would have to be able to get back up from this heavy knock. Luna was confident that it would, but that didn't lessen the pain much.
Since the school had been informed of Harry's death, Luna had acted as a sounding board for many of his closer friends. Hermione, Ginny, and several others had all spoken with her about him and while Luna had been happy to help, she had little time to grieve in private. That was what brought her there, to the forest. It was a Saturday evening and she had finished her homework for the weekend. A fog that very well befitted the month of October washed over the tree tops. Luna smiled whimsically, she quite enjoyed the fog. She couldn't help but recall the time only two years ago when she and Harry had visited the thestrals that dwelled in the forest. She could see a number of them just off to her left.
Luna drew a slab of raw meat from her bag and tossed it to the ground in front of her. A pair of them scampered of her way and ripped it apart with their teeth. Luna took the opportunity to brush the back of her hand along the smaller thestral's neck. What lovely creatures... She mused. Luna let out a sigh, ever since that day in her fourth year when she had met Harry there, thestrals had always reminded her of him.
A rather silly fellow, that Harry Potter. Luna had always thought so. He thought himself to be so very complicated and incomprehensible, but he made perfect sense to her. All Harry really wanted was to be understood, something she could relate to. All of sudden, Luna felt something wet and uncomfortable drip down along her cheek. She wrinkled her nose and lifted a finger up to her face, to remove what looked like a tear drop but could very well have been a side-effect of the locket she was wearing. The advertisement did say it might have some.
It had been a exasperatingly long time since Luna had cried. So long, in fact, that she almost forgot what it felt like. Soon she came to the conclusion that it was a rather unpleasant sensation. Her head ached and face contorted into something red and bloated. Luna huffed, but decided that crying was what most people do when they grieve. But then, Luna could not remember grieving so intensely that it brought about tears since the death of her mother, and she certainly didn't think of Harry as her mother. The whole ordeal was terribly confusing, so she chalked it up to the fact that thick forests were often infested with nargles this time of year.
"Albus Severus..you were named for the two headmasters of Hogwarts. One of them was a Slytherin and he was probably the bravest man I ever knew."
