There's this one memory he has of being attacked by a werewolf due to something his father said/did in the ministry. That was pretty darn traumatizing.

Remus' main goal is to just be treated normal by everyone. While no one (excluding three-five people) at school knows that he is a werewolf, he's worried that the ministry knowing that he is will prevent from ever being allowed to get a job. So, he studies like no other Gryffindor just to make sure he has O's in everything to impress people.

` history !
The Lupin family has never been one to focus on the prestigious view point of blood purity. Marrying muggle borns or even muggles was rather common within the family. And the Lupin family became rather infamous for marrying whoever they felt like marrying. Randolf was no exception when he ran into Marybeth while visiting in Scotland. They were both there for business and just happened to hear of a nice, local cafe. But of course, that's where all romances tended to start. There was no ordering the same drinking though, that would just be too corny of Randolf to order some fancy, huge drink. Though to say he did not think of that maneuver would be a lie. Randolf was the type of man to go up and actually talk to the girls that seemed interesting. Obviously Marybeth had substance to her. However, instead of making sure to order whatever the brown haired girl ordered, he took a seat at the table of her choice and started a conversation.
Before that coffee morning ended, Randolf made sure to get the girl's address. At the time, he was living in London and had to sneak trips to Cardiff in order to see her. For a good six months Mary was completely baffled why Randolf would communicate via owl. Growing up as a muggle she knew how to use her house phone and wondered if he was just too old fashioned for his own good. When Randolf was actually dragged into her parent's house and started to be questioned about his own family, that was when Randolf admitted to being a wizard. Not to Mary's parents, he pulled the pretty girl aside for this news. Mary thought it was some big joke, but married him in the end. The question of what Randolf did for a living was never brought up again, because it was bringing home a decent amount of money and lacked suspicion of anything too illegal. The pair moved into a nice, quaint house on the edge of Cardiff where they had Remus. There was, indeed, a huge fight over their first born's name.
Nine years later, while foolishly staying out later than he probably should have, Remus had the unfortunate luck of being attacked. What made it even worse was the fact that he had been found by muggle police and to a regular hospital, before his father stepped and took him and his mother to St. Mungo's. At this point, Mary was finally starting to believe in magic that Randolf was always telling and showing Remus. After receiving plenty of sleeping potion and regaining consciousness, it was then that the bomb dropped and it was announced that Remus was a werewolf. Because of living by a big city, the Lupins were forced to moved to a more country-sided area and get a farm where the little boy could turn and run rampage in a barn safely.
There were new first for Remus; like finding raw meet in between his teeth. And over the two years before Hogwarts, Remus started getting use to it. Well, at least he had wolfsbane to make it seem that way to everyone. He went into Hogwarts expecting to be picked on everyday by anyone and everyone. Instead, he befriended three other boys his age; James Potter, Sirius Black, and Peter Pettigrew. And thanks to them, he could never imagine his present life without them. And despite their greatest pranks and always being recognized, Remus has stayed single in fear of being judged because of being a werewolf.

Ariana bit her red lips gently when Quintus responded and moved farther a way. Okay so she definitely deserved that, but was she just going to allow him to walk away? No, that was not her personality. The girl followed Quintus, trying to think of the best apology. She hated apologies, could it not just be an unspoken one so the two could move on? How easy life would be if that was the case. Ari never apologised, not for crazy quidditch practises, not for annoying the crap out of Leroy, not or embarrassing Evan, not even for talking too much. Still, sleeping with boys on the first date was not a big habit of her's. This was why she usually did not go on real dates. There was that fear that she would end up sleeping with and wake up alone. The girl did not want to wake up like that, hell she practically spooned with her pillows.
"Did your boss choose you out of everyone working with you?" she asked, shoving her hands into the pockets of her Quidditch sweatshirt. Why else would he come back to Hogwarts after her bitch move? Part of her brain wished that it was for a reason besides his job but that seemed like low possibility. "How are you going to be able to see them?" she asked. Ari knew that Quintus' mother was gone and that his father had died from alcohol poisoning. Did the thought occur to her that he might of witnessed one of them die? Not a chance. She assumed that his mother's death was a tragic accident, while his father's seemed more self-inflicted. Ari wished she could see the Thestrals, however she had a normal childhood where she never saw death occur.
The blonde looked down at her shoes as she continued to follow Quintus towards the forest. The guilt was eating her up inside and it was one of the worst feelings to ever enter her body. "What exactly do you need to do to even make Thestrals breed? It seems like instincts should allow them to know what to do." Typical Ari asking all the wrong questions and never saying the right thing. Why didn't she just turn around and walk in the opposite direction? Eventually the guilt would vanish and she would hardly remember Quintus. Still, maybe she should have told someone like Drommie. Then she would not have as much weight on her conscience. She hoped. Maybe she would talk to Leroy about it, on the chance that he would not feel awkward hearing about one of his best friend's relations. Her blue eyes glanced down at Quintus' hands; holding them was definitely not an option.
