Daciana was born and raised in Romania. Her mother was a girl born into a small farming community. Her father was a werewolf from Málaga, Andalucia, Spain. She had a brother who was two years older than her and she always followed him around when they were young. She considered him her best friend. Growing up with a werewolf as a father isn't very easy. He had anger issues and most of the time he would take it out on his children and more often his wife. She could never really figure out why he hit them or yelled at them so she always tried to make it better but it always ended up angering him and she would get hit again.
Travis would try to protect her and take some of the attacks but their father would always end up going back to Daciana. Their mother was too afraid to say anything in case she would get hit again and too afraid to leave so they stayed. When Daciana was only eight years old her father came home. It was the first night of the full moon and he had refused to take his wolfsbane potion because he was drunk. He started to transform right before their eyes. He realized what was going on and tried to leave. Daciana got in the way right as his wolf took over. His claws swiped out and caught her on the left shoulder blade, slicing her open like ribbons. He finally left the house as Daciana bled on the floor. Travis quickly swept her up and took her to the doctors. He healed her as best they could but she would always have a scar. Since the doctor was a family friend Travis and her mother begged him not to report Ramone. They needed him for the income in the household. The doctor agreed and he never got punished for malling his daughter.
When she was eleven she was invited to attend and study at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She left for school and constantly wrote to her brother. He would try to write about happy things in his letters but she could tell that there wasn't a lot of happy things to write about. Travis himself attended Durmstrang. He had been invited there two years before she had been invited to Hogwarts. After six years of attending the school Daciana came home for summer break to find her mother packing and her father drinking his heart away at the kitchen table. Her mother had finally found the courage to leave. They were moving to the United Kingdom. They were leaving Romania and so was her father. He was moving back to Spain to join a pack of werewolves. She hoped he would get some help but she doubted that he would.
Before she returned to school she had to get used to life without her father. She no longer had to live in fear of him coming home at night in a drunken rage dragging her out of bed. She would no longer have to try and protect her mother or tend to her brother's wounds after he protected them from his attacks. She could live a normal life. They could all live a normal life now that he was gone.
When she returned to school the following year everyone could see a change in her demeanor and attitude. She was more outgoing and confident. Her grades drastically changed and improved along with her attitude. Her friends were happy for her and loved the new Daciana. Things were finally looking up and Daciana was headed into a bright future.

The light was shining brightly in the sky as they made their way to the train station. Daciana loved days like this. She wished that she was in the forest back at home running around. But at the same time she was happy that her mother had finally gathered the courage to leave her father for good. She looked back at her mother and squeezed her hand. They were in London heading to Kings Cross Station. The new start of the year at Hogwarts was just around the bend. Her mother and brother were helping Daciana with her luggage through the station. She was nothing but smiles. They had finally got rid of the one thing that made coming home frightening. She would never again be afraid to come home for holiday breaks. She looked ahead and ran though the portal to the platform to the Hogwarts train. Travis and her mother were right behind her.
The platform was crammed with students and familes running around and trying to get everyone stowed away. Daciana looked around in wonder. Her hands shook slightly. She was nervous. She had never seen so many people. All the different accents and different luggage. There were meows from cats, sqeaks from rats, and screeches and hoots from the many owls. It was a mad house. She hated leaving her friends back at Beauxbatons. She had really felt like it was starting to be home. Now she would have to start all over again. Travis handed her her owl and wrapped his arm around her. He smiled down and kissed her on the head. Daciana said her goodbyes as the whistle blew. She would see them at Christmas. She waved goodbye until they were out of sight. She then made her way to find a cabin to sit in. They were all full except for one who had only a couple students sitting in it.
"Um, excuse me. Do you mind if sit here?"
" Albus Severus..you were named for the two headmasters of Hogwarts. One of them was a Slytherin and he was probably the bravest man I ever knew."
