selene was born on a fully moon and her first name which is likely to come from greek origin. selene, in greek mythology, was a goddess with strong to the moon and who was born to titan parents. her brother, helios, was the sun god, and her sister, eos, was a goddess of dawn. lamia is another name with greek origin. lamia was a beautiful queen who had dark tendencies as she was driven to insanity after hera had killed all of lamias children, which lead for her beauty to be no more. she would devour other children and at one point given the ability to remove her eyes and later was cursed with the inability to close her eyes. her story eventually was used as folklore in tales told to children before they slept.

telling when someone is lying to her - being able to tell when someone is fabricating any sort of information to you is a very useful skill to have. there are many slight characteristics that most liars have and selene can easily pick up on.
writing essays - writing has always been a passion of selene’s. most people find this sort of task tedious and horrid, but for selene she would take this over any other type of work ANY DAY. she is willing to go on until she has created something that she deems perfect.
damaging things - some people create harm but don’t really intend to do it. the difference with selene is that she always knows what she is doing and her intentions are always one hundred percent. now, this can be viewed in both a good and bad sense, it all depends on your perception but no matter what this is the truth - selene knows how to make a mess of things and make it look like it was an accident.

selene likes to experiment and this has always been a major character trait of hers. sometimes though, everything she tries doesn’t exactly go as she would expect it to go. at the wonderful age of 12, on summer holidays, selene was trying something new, which needless to say, lead to half of her families house being destroyed. now that was something she could live with, but what really bothered her about this, is her parents reactions towards her. both her father and mother have been known to have a quick temper and as soon as they found out... that was the end of selene having any hope of a enjoyable summer. selene had argued with her parents many times before but it was nothing like this and this whole memory has been distorted over time becoming much worse than it actually was, in the mind of selene.

selene fears the idea of someone being able to see right through her and them making judgements about her being true. simply, she fears that idea of someone being able to know everything about her. she has spent much time creating and preserving a wall between others and herself. if that wall was to fall and crumble, she would do most likely do the same. she needs the wall to be there so that she has something to rest and rely on in order to keep up everything that she does.

the best possible memory that selene can think of is the time when she was nine and she and her family went on a vacation to norway. here selene saw, what she perceived to be the most beautiful landscape it the world and was taken so aback by all that she saw. when selene thinks of this memory her patronus takes the form of a fox, a red fox to be precise.

the full moon was shining bright on night of june twenty eighth in the year nineteen sixty one. a petite baby, with what looked to be no hair, was born to a single pair of apathetic pureblood parents. now, if the parents were feeling that way, why on earth would they have a child? is a simple question with a not a not so simple answer. the fact of the matter was this, the pair wanted children and there was nothing in their hearts that made them feel any different. the problem was, that they didn’t want a child like this. they were very firm on their belief of having a first born to the point where they were almost willing to do get rid of this child. eventually they decided otherwise and kept the child despite their feelings not to. even so, at the sight of their first still, their expressions still remained neutral. they named her selene, a greek goddess of the moon, representing their child’s connection to the moon because of both the moon shining on her birth night, and her being a cancer.
as a baby, her parents were, at first, not all that affectionate towards their newborn child but as selene reached toddlerhood, her parents began to show her the tenderness she deserved. even as a child, she spent more time depending on no one but herself. she quickly learned that depending on people wasn’t something that she should do that often because people were never going to be there for you. many of her days were spent alone with her thoughts. though her families idea’s were also being pushed into her skull during this time as well. selene, being both young and vulnerable, found herself becoming accustom to their ideas and in growing up, accepted them as if they were just another average piece of information.
in the changes that went with growing older, selene became prone to both self-destruction and destruction in general. she began to learn how to manipulate people to what she thought was to her advantage but sometimes, lead her astray. at the age of 11 she was accepted to hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry, and that same look of apathy, that her parents so regularly possessed, came across selene. selene wasn’t really all that excited about leaving the comfort of her childhood and moving on to a different world. it was a world where she would be interacting with others on a daily basis and all she selene wanted to do was get ahead through her own personal methods and not with the help of others.
once at hogwarts, selene’s perspective of the school changed slightly. after being sorted into slytherin house, like the majority of her family, she found in her first year that there was much that she could learn both from the lessons and the people around her, some of it good and others bad. it was a time for her to be able to just become adjusted to the whole setting of the school and find out what she would have to be set up with for the next seven years of her life.
as she progressed into becoming a teenager she found herself becoming more accustom to loosing her temper and a variety of negative events, with a selection of positive ones throughout. she made many friends that appeared, at face view, to be quite similar to herself. she also created many reckless memories with them, as well as cunningly inserting others into other situations for nothing but pure gain. through growing older she became concerned with many things that she never once had a care in the world for. she has always wanted to get ahead of others so that she could feel superior but it has taken a new importance as of recent events. selene lamia greengrass is a girl with many desires but all her desires are pulling her in separate directions.

Her hand slid over the cool hard rock of the castle as she made her way down a flight of stairs. How was she supposed to keep this charade up? It was already falling apart and there was only so much that she could do to keep all the holes from growing larger. Why was this even worth it? The problem was where was she supposed to go in this dire situation! It was not like she could escape and turn around to go back to her home. It was January for heavens sake! Christmas vacation had already finished and it would be months before she was able to escape from these castle walls to the safe sanctuary of Devon.
Asking her family if they could take her out of school was always an option... Well actually no, their answer would be an obvious no. In fact they would cringe at the idea. In general, education was far to important to them. In their eyes, it was set apart anyone with any form sense from those who were destined to fade away. So when it came to the idea of their own daughter taking some time away from school to have a bit of mental health break, out of fear of her mind tearing apart... That would be viewed as heavily ridiculous. They would advise for Violet to stay in school because that is what, in their opinion, solve all of her problems.
No, that wasn’t what she needed at all. A lecture on what they would think that she should do. What she needed was to escape and get this peace of mind that she so desperately deserved. But she had to be realistic. Nothing was going to happen because the problem wasn’t ever going to go away. Hell, if she was going to tell the truth to herself then she would have to admit that she didn’t even know what the problem was!
All she felt like was as if she was collapsing. Like her whole world was going to collapse and she couldn’t even say the reason why. One would think that in a situation where she felt as rotten as she did there would be a reason for it. But there was not. As a matter of fact, Violet felt even worse because of this. Feeling like your world was falling down upon you and not knowing who or what to blame, just made you blame everything and anything that was in your path or wanting to just go and cry for as much time as she could handle.
Instead Violet spent the endless hours of her free time wandering throughout the halls, towers, and grounds of Hogwarts castle until she found herself in a situation like she presently was. Propped up against a castle wall as her legs were about to give up on her. In fact, at this very moment she felt much worse than she ever had before. Violet slid back to the ground and sat on a step and threw her head against the wall and began to bang it repeatedly.
Oh what on earth was she becoming. She wasn’t the same person that she was this time last year. Her hatred for herself was growing immensely to the point where she was even resorting to taking it out on herself. How healthy she was!
All she wanted was to be alone, alone with her pathetic self. But then again, how hard was that when you were in a school, a school filled with many other people...
